I'm starting to feel a slight chill in the air (or maybe it's just a lack of humidity), which means First Fridays in downtown Thomasville are now at their peak. The Bookshelf -- and several other Thomasville shops and restaurants -- will be open late this Friday (we'll be open until 8!), and while a concert and other festivities happen just outside our doors, we'll be mingling with local artist Monica Dyess.
Monica creates beautiful art out of old book pages, and we're showcasing her work with a pop-up shopinside The Bookshelf on Friday. Stop by to meet Monica and to take a look at her creations; she'll even have some of her work (like this beautiful wreathe) available for sale.
Staying open a little later during fall evenings is one of my favorite things. It automatically makes life feel a little more festive, and I think maybe, just maybe, we're going to make it after all. Holidays, here we come.
