Guess who's coming to dinner? You're invited to our first-ever Pen to Plate Dinner at The Bookshelf!

Next Thursday, we're partnering with John and Anna Carroll Gregory, the chefs and masterminds behind Southern Jubilee Catering in Thomasville. They're creating a dinner menu inspired by The Forest Feast Gatherings, a new cookbook out this week, and on Thursday, a group of us will gather to learn about the recipes from the book and to enjoy a meal prepared by John and Anna Carroll.

In another life, before I was a bookstore owner, I was a bookstore lover, and I would have been thrilled to enter a bookstore after hours, to eat dinner between the shelves and among the books. We're so excited to bring you this opportunity, and our fingers are crossed for a successful turnout so we can repeat these dinners a couple of times a year. 

It's always a little risky to try a new event, particularly in October, when calendars fill up so very quickly, but I hope you'll try to join us next Thursday. Tickets are available both in-store and online (one ticket includes a copy of the cookbook), and we're capping the dinner at 24 attendees. I want this to be a fun, intimate gathering with good food and good friends, and I'd love to see you there. I can't imagine a better way to kick off this fall season.
