My Favorite Things
As I'm sure you all know, there have been some awesome developments at The Bookshelf in the last couple of months. There have been new staff additions, some lovely expansions to our beloved literary selections, and quite a few events around the corner that have us more than a little excited for the fall season!
I can't even tell you how fun it has been to join the team at The Bookshelf. It's a magical place with wonderful people.
Since I am surrounded by some of the most well read minds in Thomasville, I thought I would leave it to them to introduce you to the pages of our library. No one could do it better. However, it would be an awful shame to miss some of the other lovely things that make our shop the place that it is. We are predominately a book store, but there's so much more to us than that. So here's a few of my favorite things from the month. I hope you stop by and peruse our selection.
1. The Forest Feast
I know, I know, this is a book. But I'm not here to offer you a full review, only to try and tempt you to check out this beautifully illustrated vegetarian cookbook. Every page is a watercolor experience and the recipes are very simple and user friendly. Definitely a must-have for any shelf, whether you are a meat lover or not!
2. Our watercolor and floral 2016 planners
Have you checked these out yet? As soon as Annie hired me, I picked one up, and it has been a life saver! Between the craziness of juggling multiple jobs, bills, and trying to maintain some semblance of routine with laundry, grocery shopping, and house cleaning, I would be lost without this planner. I'm a big believer in all things being as pleasant and aesthetically pleasing as possible. These planners fit the bill. Pick one up, you won't be sorry!
3. Farmer's Market candle made by The Refinery
I'm a little veggie obsessed. I don't hesitate to admit that. And this candle has all the spice and freshness of the most impressive garden. Hints of sage, basil, and fresh green tomato vine make this a desirable addition to my kitchen counter. And we only have a few left!
4. Decorative Plates
So, as I said, I'm fairly veggie obsessed. I love farm to table restaurants and supporting local farmer's markets whenever possible. So of course, I tend to decorate my home with what I love, right? These plates make it easy.
I could go on for hours, folks. Our store is full of things I would love to take home with me. But since I can't talk about all of them in one post, I'll stop there.
I hope to see all of your lovely faces in The Bookshelf soon! I'm sure this weather is just a hint of what fall is going to bring and we all know how many months of summer we probably have left. But do enjoy it, take a stroll down Broad Street, and come say hello!!!
All My Best,
