SHELF RECOMMENDATIONS: BOOK CLUB STYLE
This month has been a busy one and as we head into the last few weeks of September, we’ve got a few more events we think you’ll want to get in on.
This Thursday, we’re hosting our first-ever Literary Luncheon. Think book club fair, but in the fall! Annie will tell ticket holders about her favorite new releases and fall trends. If you love literary conversation as much as we do, this is where you’ll want to be to get in the know. For a glimpse into what we’ll be talking about, check out some of the season’s most anticipated titles:
From the bestselling author of Everything I Never Told You, Little Fires Everywhere is a riveting novel that traces the intertwined tales of the picture-perfect Richardson family and the enigmatic mother and daughter who upend their lives.
Kiss Me Someone follows several women as they navigate the obstacles that come with mixed-race identity and instabilities in social class, and they use their liminal positions to leverage power.
Written by social scientist Brené Brown, Braving the Wilderness sets out to challenge what we know about belonging in communities and organization from a cultural perspective.
This Literary Luncheon is sold out, but be on the lookout for another! We’re planning on doing this sort of thing once a season.
In the meantime, if you picked Annie’s Shelf Subscription, you are invited to a Subscription Social on September 26th for a book club style discussion on her September pick Young Jane Young by Gabrielle Zevin. If you aren’t a Shelf Subscriber, never fear, you're still invited! A copy of Young Jane Young will be included in your ticket.
We can’t wait to see you at one (or both!) of these events!
